I rode about 100km from the port, but couldn't get out of Tianjin-city. The same with Beijin. Everything is so wide and huge. As I come to the center of the city, each building is like a stadium or a museum or a palace.
The picture is Bejin central station last night. The square in front was filled with moving shadows of people.
I went to the old palace this afternoon in rain. Again it was so huge. And there were so many people. That's about all I would remember.
Though there were many foreign tourists as well, I didn't recognize any Japanese. Maybe they all shut their mouths for some reason.
