25 July 2008, 嘉峡関, 4449km

I left 酒泉 in the early afternoon. It was windy. The blow was right against me. Later it rained together. I got exhausted, couldn't move much, could barely reach to the next city, 嘉峡関.
I'd lost way and was riding in a village. It was the time of harvest of wheat. Farmers were busy with separating wheat from the chaff.
They use wind for that. One shovel up everything towards wind. Wheat is heavier and comes down soon. Chaff is lighter and is blown further. Another sweeps it away and separate them. They do it on roads, everywhere in the village.
The windy day seemed to be a good day for the work. They continued the work in the stormy weather till it finally started to rain, then covered everything quickly and went in houses.
