I arrived at Incheon ferry terminal around noon. I could use my credit card to pay the fare, and the other expense like tax with the rest of my money in my wallet.
I asked about my bicycle again at the ticket office if they wouldn't charge for it later. The woman at the counter said no, but I'd have to bring my bicycle on the boat by myself. I didn't quite understand what it meant.
Boarding started at 5:30pm. There were more passengers than I'd thought, mostly Koreans and Chinese, and six others.
My bicycle became a bit of issue. A ground stuff and a woman at the information desk helped me together. I was told to wait till everybody else was gone, meanwhile got explanation about the check at the custom. She then told me,
"Don't worry"
with such a nice smile. The ground stuff waved good-bye to me with a big smile. I cannot forget them.
Everything went alright at the custom. But, when I went to the boat, I saw the boarding bridge was in staircase in hight of three stories. That's what she meant "I had to bring it up by myself." I was at a loss. My bike, together with six bags, was too heavy, and too bulky to carry up at once.
A crew saw me and told me something. I didn't understand him but looked where he pointed. There was a lifting machine to carry up heavy luggage from the ground to the upper deck. Lucky! I happily went there and asked to bring my bike up. I took it down by myself on the deck.
The bike was tied in the corner. Everything went alright, I thought. Then I realized the map case was gone, together with Germin GPS! Only the strap was left on the front bag where I tied to. I used it last time near Incheon. But after that...
I looked in the front bag again and again, looked around on the deck, looked down on the ground, but couldn't find it anywhere.
The GPS I counted on using in difficult situation is lost. The one I just bought for the trip. I couldn't get out of the state of shock a while.
The boat left after seven in sunset, with good memory and regret together to the land.
