I was thinking again and again about the landlady of the hotel last night on the way to the border. I could just leave, but she was left in the place where I caused mess. It was too late to regret, but...
One of the policemen spoke English a little and interpreted for me. I might have been in worse trouble without his help.
He was a considerate man. He said to me at the end with his limited vocabulary,
"I hope you will be still happy in China."
Yes, I will. I didn't like the rules of hotels for foreigners or regulation in internet in this coutry. But I got better memory with others.
Talking about restrictive rules. My trip with those rules was actually much easier than I had imagined with the stories that I heard 20 some years ago. It will be different again in another decade.
I had my favorite noodle for lunch in the town on the border, "Banmyen" in Chinese, as my last food in China. I don't know how often I had the noodle. I'll miss the taste, with the memory of so many times of chat, in so many restaurants in China.
