3 Apr 2009, Sanaa Yemen

Sanaa is in the first rainy season of a year. It often rains in the afternoon, not really heavy but sometimes with thundering. I feel cold with a T-shirt when it becomes cloudy.

My digital camera is dead. I looked for a new one in many electrical stores or computer shops. They mostly sold old models for their original prices, when they were just released. I didn't feel like buying any.
Then I went a few camera shops which sold second hand film-cameras. There I found Russian cameras for less than $20 ; Agat 18k and Lomo LC-A. I knew they were once popular in Japan. Lomo was sold in shops for more than $200 at that time. Both seem to be cheaper now, but not so cheaply. I bought them at once, was happy to try something "new".
Actually, I bought two Lomo LC-A in one shop, in two times, because of the bad reputation that they were fragile. The shop owner must have wondered why I was eager to buy such dusty cameras while there were Japanese or German cameras as well. But he was always busy chewing Khat and didn't seem to care less. (I heard Khat had such effect, as it made you feel you'd got everything.)
