7 June 2008, Busan

Third day in Busan, trying to find some way out with the card.

The impression of the city. Shops or restaurants are open to streets. People stay outside of those, relaxed, chatting. They often talk to me friendly (because of the heavy loaded bicycle that they've never seen, and they didn't know I was Japanese). Markets open late, with rich variety of local foods. Street restaurants in tents. Wonderful smell of cooked foods...
I feel warmness.
Cars are a little awful though. They have the first priority on road, don't stop for pedestrians or bicycles, no matter to which direction they head to. They drive fast on main roads. It's difficult to cross.

Foods. They are great!
Yesterday I went into a restaurant of Pork foot, which I really wanted to try. There was a menu with pictures on the wall, and it was written "big" or "small" in kanji. I was happy that I could read those. I pointed "big" (I was hungry) on the menu and ordered the food, with gesture of eating. They nodded and let me sit at a table.
I had to wait a while.
The food came. I was shocked! It was in a big plastic bag, as if there was a big water melon inside. They probably thought I'd take it home to eat with my family or friends. Well, it was actually my fault. I could have guessed the amount with the price. But I'd missed one zero on the menu.
I tried gesture again and they understood that I wanted to eat in the restaurant. They unpacked everything, put them on plates and served. Gee. It was enough 4 portion, I guess. I tried, but could barely finish half. The food was good though.
People in the restaurant were nice and wrapped the left over again with adding new seasonings and dipping sauce as I left. But I was full. I gave it to the manager and his girlfriend of the dormitory where I stayed. They were happy.
