7 Oct 2008, Murgub,Tajikistan, 3650m

(The altitude meter on my wrist watch was adjusted from 3295m to 3650m.)

Yesterday I went to register. No problem. But I had to wait till the afternoon because of their lunchbreak.
Meanwhile I was walking around the small town, first looked for a bank to change money. I asked to a boy who happened to come to talk to me. It was just around the corner where he showed. Then he streached out his palm to me and said,
"Rouble!"
No way. I had to repeat "Niet!" louder and louder till he finally gave up.
Then I went to a market and got some stuff. I bought two boxes of mathes in a shop. I found out later that the price was far more expensive than usual, plus one box was nearly empty.
As I went back to my guesthouse, two boys started making fun of me, metioning about "Kitai(Chinese)" and sprashing sand to me behind them with their feet on a slope. They escalated their mischief as I ignored. One sneaked behind me and throw a stone. It hit me right on my buttocks. I got mad instantly and chased him, but ended up fell down on sandy ground miserably. (I got him later though. But, gee, the air was so thin!)
I was suffering from slight fever and dizziness from cold. Walking around in the cold air and running after the naughty kids made my condition worse.
I didn't feel well this morning either, decided to stay one more day in the guesthouse and slept most of the time.
People in the guesthouse were kind to me.
