I'm still in Dubai. I expected to receive a parcel from my family, a fuel bottle & a pump of my cooking stove which was stolen in Tajikistan. But I didn't know the mail system of this country. I'd asked to send it by normal e-mail, using "Post restante", which turned out to be a big mistake.
Every mail stops at a post office in Dubai. All are Post Restante. Everybody goes to collect his mail by himself.
There should be one of those three on mail;
1.PO number (there is "public box" as well)
2.mobile number
3.tracking number by EMS
If none of the above is on a parcel, for example, they consider it as "not identified" and return it to the country of the sender immediately.
I learnt the rule after asking around and running around the city for 3 days, in the heavy traffic with my bicycle. Exhausting it was.
I've spent 4 nights in the hostel. $120. There seems to be no more hope of finding the parcel, though I tried my best. I should give up, and leave tomorrow.
